“Ahh Home. Let me go home.Home is wherever I’m with you.
Ahh Home. Let me go ho-oh-ome.
Home is wherever I’m with you.”
I don’t know about you, but the last seven days have been pretty hectic for me and Jon.
<1-3>It kicked off with us traveling to Charlotte, NC for my dear friend Kelly’s wedding. It was a gorgeous wedding full of dancing, laughing, and catching up with old college friends. I was also privileged enough to be asked to do the hair of five of her bride’s maids- which I did in a record one hour! Early Sunday morning, Jon and I hopped on the first plane back to Atlanta and spent some time with his brother, Marc, and his friend, Ginny. We went to Piedmont park for the Dogwood Festival and watched the frisbee dogs. I’m not even kidding when I say this may be my new favorite thing! Those dogs were bubbling with joy and energy. You can’t help but to feel good watching them. Here is a clip of one of the dogs there on Sunday and here is a clip from last years freestyle winner!
<4-6> Every Monday kicks off with my hooping class! I can’t think of a better way to start my week, especially after moving to the class theme song! It makes you want to move, right? This week I also had to make a short trip to Chattanooga, TN for work. I got to spend time with my best friend, Sarah, and my dear Aunt- Cathy. Wednesday night Aunt Cathy informed me that I would be getting a new cousin soon. That precious dog you see in the middle is him, Benji! What a cutie. I was also able to squeeze in time with another dear friend of mine who painted that above picture for me. It’s based off of the lyrics “Get over your hill, and see what you find there, with grace in your heart, and flowers in your hair” by Mumford and Sons. She is seriously talented, and I can’t wait to hang this baby up!
<7-8> I came home late Thursday evening and of course we had to catch the NFL draft. We headed over to a friend’s house, and my husband couldn’t resist trying on his friends wrestling wear. Unfortunately, it didn’t bring him good luck as the Ravens traded their first round pick and all of our watching was pretty much in vain. The last picture is me catching some rays with my dear friend, Kathryn. Today is my first pool day of the season (so glad summer came early this year!), and I can’t think of a better way to end the week.
Oh, I also want to mention that I am now on Bloglovin, too. You can follow me here!
Happy Weekend Everyone!
** I want to forewarn you that this isn’t one of my typical upbeat posts, but one that is near and dear to my heart. xo
One year ago today, one of the most deadly and widespread tornado outbreaks occurred with over 208 touching down in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. I remember the ominous day very well with the reported 70% chance of tornadoes; the nonstop rain, hail, and winds; and the nightmare chain of events. The storm system lasted from 7:30am to 10:30pm creating havoc all across the southeast. A quarter of the days death toll was accounted for by the surrounding areas of my community. It was a rough day, to say the least, but like with most natural disasters, it brought out the best in people and their communities. A year later, many of the homes have been rebuilt; however, the victims, those they love, and their communities still carry many emotional wounds. My post today is in honor of them.
